Six months after Japan’s devastating earthquake and tsunami, Kazumasa Nakagaki finds a stray dog called Tamon outside a convenience store. Tamon quickly becomes a member of Kazumasa’s family yet always seems to be gazing westward. When Kazumasa finds a new job, Tamon mysteriously disappears and spends the next 5 years on an incredible journey, enriching the lives of everyone he meets. Eventually locating Tamon, Kazumasa decides he must help the sweet-natured dog complete his journey and try to reconnect him with the owner from which he was torn.
