After the birth of their first child, Suk Yin and Elaine’s joy quickly fades when daughter Chi is diagnosed with a rare disease and requires round-the-clock care. Overwhelmed, Elaine abandons the family and Suk Yin leaves Chi to the care of his mother, Suen. A decade on, the aging Suen is unable to look after Chi and Suk Yin returns home.
